EPICENTRE Partners: Fundacja W Stronę Dialogu

Fundacja W Stronę Dialogu, led by Dr Joanna Talewicz, is EPICENTRE’s Polish partner. Working across culture, research, education and advocacy, the Foundation has become an important platform for Roma cultural and intellectual life in Poland.

Within EPICENTRE: Roma History of Contemporaneity in Central Europe, the Foundation brings the Polish perspective into a shared regional history. Its contribution places artists, exhibitions, cultural institutions, political transformations and cultural interventions in the context of the developments that have shaped Roma contemporaneity in Poland.

The project approaches Roma cultural history through the specific experiences of each participating country, while exploring the connections between them. Warsaw adds its own genealogy to this shared account, helping to establish a broader understanding of how Roma artistic practices have developed within different social, political and cultural environments.

The collaboration will culminate in an international public event in Poland, bringing Roma artistic practice into conversation with broader contemporary culture. It will offer an opportunity to encounter the artistic and intellectual perspectives emerging from the Polish context and consider their place within the wider cultural history of Central Europe.

Through its work in culture, research, education and advocacy, Fundacja W Stronę Dialogu contributes to the project's effort to connect national histories and make Roma cultural production more visible.
