The European Roma Cultural Foundation puts money directly into the hands of young Roma artists, composers, filmmakers and writers — not as charity, but because the work is good and should exist. Takács explores memory, identity and the fragile boundaries between personal and collective experience.Through layered materials and intimate narratives, she creates spaces where vulnerability becomes a form of resistance.
Zsófia Takács explores the intersections of historical memory, family history and Roma identity through painting, pastel and textile-based works. Her current series, Žáby and If You Took My Identity, Can I Take Yours?, investigate inherited silence, women’s histories and the complex process of reclaiming identity through art.
